It is possible to allow pupils who have left a school and have been removed from a school's MIS to continue to access all available services, including their email accounts for a specified period of time. These pupils do not become unallocated during the "grace period" and continue to be associated with the school.
Specifically, any pupils whose names are removed from a school's MIS (because they have permanently left the school) between 1 June and 31 October, of the same calendar year, can be allowed to continue to access their school email accounts for a specified time after leaving the school. The time frame is to be decided by the LA although the latest possible date to access their accounts would be 31 October. The LA can decide which year groups to restrict this to and enable it only for schools that need it.
