The Headteacher summary link is available under My Account and visible to Head Teachers only. Other users will not see it among the options.
Selecting this link generates a summary of privileged users within a school and their permission levels.
The page is designed to provide information to Head teachers and to allow them to edit certain user permissions without having to be a Nominated Contact or raising requests with the Service Desk.
In order to make changes to any of the school information displayed here a Nominated Contact for your school will need to Raise a Support Case with the Service Desk.
If your Head is not able to see this page, it is likely that their USO account profile is not configured correctly. Please check that their profile contains the Role: Head/Prinicipal and if it does not, please raise a case and request that the Service Desk gives them this profile.
Editing permissions
A Head teacher can use this page to edit the permissions of specified users.
The permissions of any staff member already listed can be amended by clicking Edit to the right of their name.

The interface will open to allow changes. You will then be able to tick the relevant boxes which give those staff members the stated permissions.
Please note that Nominated Contact status cannot be edited via this page. It may only be edited via the Nominated Contacts management page by Head teachers who also have registered OTP tags.
For other permissions, tick or untick the relevant boxes and click Update to save any changes.
Granting permissions
To grant permissions to a user not yet listed, select that user from the dropdown list, tick the boxes for the permissions you wish to grant them and click Add.

The change to that user's permissions will be effective immediately and will allow them to access new functionality the next time they log in to the support site.
Permissions explained
This page allows Headteachers to grant/edit only a small number of permission types. These are as follows:
Nominated Contact: A Head who has a registered OTP tag has the ability to create Nominated Contacts online without the need for filling in and faxing forms. Full details can be found here.
View secure MIS data: This permissions will allow a Nominated Contact using the USO support site to view pupil contact information extracted from the MIS. This includes the names, phone numbers and email addresses of their parents/guardians. This permission does not in any way interfere with any access users inside the school have to the MIS directly, it simply defines whether a person can view this information via the support site interface.
AutoText sender: This permission gives the recipient the ability to make full use of the texting and emailing functionality offered by USO-AutoText. Often the View secure MIS data permission will be granted in conjunction with this one.
There are a number of other pages in the support site that require a Head Teacher's intervention as well as a few pages that Heads can access by virtue of their role. These are:
AutoUpdate Settings to enable the export of data from a school's MIS via AutoUpdate.
Nominated Contact Management, which allows a Head who has on OTP tag to create Nominated Contacts or revoke this status from existing ones.
Remote Access Resources, which requires that the service be enabled by the Head Teacher before a Nominated Contact can configure it for use.
The School Settings Configuration page of the AutoText interface contains an option to tick a box so that all staff mobile numbers received via AutoUpdate are automatically considered as validated. This option is available to Heads only.
The Head is able to edit the School OpenCheck status regardless of any other permissions their USO account may or may not have.
Headteachers can approve declarations for different services on the Declaration management page.
Headteachers can enable data releases for different services on the Federation data release page.
