USO-AutoUpdate is an automatic method of exporting data directly from your school's MIS into the USO database. It creates new USO accounts and updates existing accounts every time a data export is received.
Sets of data to be exported are configured within the installed application (for SIMS and Wauton Samuel) and enabled for export via the support site.
It is strongly recommended that you do the following before AutoUpdate is run for the first time:
Data Cleansing: All schools should check the data relating to their users currently held in the USO database. To do this, go to User Accounts >> User List/Search and search for all users at your school. Check the list as thoroughly as possible to ensure that all users have:
•a Legal First and a Legal Last name (preferred names are displayed in brackets) •and a Date of Birth (the correct one) If you spot any inaccuracies in the fields stated above, you should raise a case with the Service Desk and ask for the relevant corrections to be made. If any other fields are incorrect, you may be able to make the amendments yourself by editing each user's account.
Discrepancies between information in these key fields as held in the USO database and in your school's MIS may lead to subsequent issues with individual accounts when AutoUpdate is first run.
