Installations need to be scheduled at least a week in advance and should be booked after all other conditions are met.

School holidays are very popular for these kinds of changes to be carried out so more notice may be required for any installation planned for a holiday period. The installation date will be confirmed in the support case raised by the school to request the procedure.

A full installation takes around half a day. It is done in a series of steps, not a single uninterrupted action. It is essential that an onsite contact is available to check the installation if requested by Wavenet Education.

If you have accounts in your AD that also exist in USO (e.g. you took a snapshot of USO users to provision users in your AD manually or via another scripting mechanism) then those user accounts will be modified by USOSync to be consistent with other USOSync accounts (i.e. the password/display name/profile path etc will be modified appropriately).

USOSync will only control AD users that have matching usernames in USO. If you have usernames that are unique to your AD and do not have corresponding USO accounts, those accounts will be left untouched by USOSync. These accounts can be used for as long as necessary but will need to be maintained manually.

Existing accounts in AD with a username that do not match any USO accounts can be renamed to match.

This must be done before USOSync is installed. It will not be possible after installation takes place because there will then be accounts in the AD with matching USO usernames.

You may safely change the account password but you MUST remember to also change the username and password credentials used by the scheduled task, you will also need to inform Wavenet Education to allow USOSync to continue working.

•Last name  field gets set with the Legal Last Name in USO

•First name field gets set with the Legal First Name

•State field gets filled with the name of the Local Authority where the user's main school is located

•DisplayName field gets filled with "Legal Last Name, Legal First Name"

•Company field gets set with the "DFE Code" "School Name" (eg: 999 9999 Some High School)

•Department field gets the user type (Student, Staff etc)

•Description field gets filled in with the full path of the user (eg: Croydon-Some High School-Student-Year-Name). It is also used for keeping track of users marked for deletion

•Optional fields:

•SerialNumber field gets filled with the UPN

•Office field gets filled with the Year of Entry for Students

•Login script field gets filled in if requested

•Profile path field gets filled in if requested

•Home area field gets filled in if requested

•Email field gets filled with the email in USO if requested
